Headless Commerce: because we love front-end

Psst: we are hiring remote frontend developers and backend developers.

The main driver behind going for headless e-commerce is that we really love front-ends. The underlying product information needs to be super fast and easily available for developers. Making the front-end developers and designers shine while building the next generation user experience that users love.

Tailor made is the New Normal for User Experience

If you are going to play in the big boys game on the internet you need to put your efforts in the user experience (UX). Make the user experience a pleasure for your customers, remove any friction and make it fast. Customer first. Customer first across all channels and devices means tailor made user experiences and a back-end that is channel agnostic.

Launch fast and iterate

It should really be: launch fast, learn and iterate. You need to design the user experience based on best practice, gut feel and user testing. Once you launch you need to realize that this is just the start. Continuous iterations, testing, learning and improving is how you can build the next generation user experience your customers are expecting. Let's face it; customers are using Netflix, Facebook and Amazon on a daily basis. That is who they compare you to, the bar is set.

Fast APIs matter for headless commerce

In order for you to continuously innovate and improve the user experience your back-end API needs to be fast and easy to use. Fast APIs really matter because milliseconds matter. When building your tech stack for the future make sure your with e-commerce back-end is up to the task.

My (biased) top level qualification checklist for headless ecommerce back-end:

  • Fast, low latency API
  • Easy to use for developers
  • Semantically structured product information

In case I am unclear: make sure your ecommerce experience is fast. Your customers will thank you, and so will Google.
